WHAT IS THE DDS INNOVATOIN CHALLENGE?
‍Novo Nordisk is continuing to embark on a journey to partner with externals with the goal of co-developing innovative solutions for patients living with chronic diseases.

Novo Nordisk invites innovators to participate in the DDS Innovation Challenge, seeking solutions to help people living with diabetes achieve better health by addressing the challenge statements lined out on this page.

WHATTYPES OF IDEAS AND SOLUTIONS IS THIS PROGRAM SEEKING?
‍Product and Process solutions that will improve Novo Nordisk’s product sustainability.  

‍WHEN DOES THE PROGRAM BEGIN, WHAT IS INVOLVED, AND WHEN WILL PARTICIPANTS BE ANNOUNCED?
‍Applications will be reviewed and accepted on a rolling basis. Semi-finalists will be notified of their selection by February 2024. Semi-finalists will be invited to participate in a virtual selection event the Week of February 26^th,2024.
The format for this event is a quick pitch of their solution followed by a Q&A period. From this, 3-5 participants will be selected. 
Participants will engage in a 3-monthAccelerator March 11^th – June 6^th, 2024.
The accelerator will kick off with a 4-day event in Copenhagen, Denmark that all participants should participate in. During this period each team is assigned a team of mentors to help them advance their proposal for a collaboration with Novo Nordisk.

The goal is to have actionable pilots coming out of the Partner Selection Day June 6^th 2024 

WHO IS ELIGIBLE AND NOT ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?
‍The DDS Innovation Challenge is open tostart-up companies and corporate entities.  

HOW DO I APPLY FOR THE CHALLENGE?

‍HOW MANY PARTICIPANTS WILL BE SELECTED? WILL THE PARTICIPANTS BE PUBLICLYDISCLOSED? 
‍8-12 semi-finalists will be selected.They will be contacted by first week of February 2024.
These teams will present virtually (via a web conferencing system) to a community of Novo Nordisk experts and industry leaders the end of February 2024. 
3-5 participants will receive the opportunity to continue co-developing their solution with Novo Nordisk. The participants will be publicly disclosed once selected.
All participants will participate in a 12 week semi-virtual accelerator where they will build and test their innovation concept with Novo Nordisk mentors, and with a broad set of stakeholders from across the sustainability and healthcare communities.  

The first week of the program March 11^th-15^th takes place in-person at Novo Nordisk’s facilities near Copenhagen, Denmark.  

‍WHATWILL BE THE STRUCTURE OF THE FINAL PITCH?
‍The Partner Selection Day participants pitch June 6^th in at a venue close to Copenhagen, Denmark.
Presentations will be highlighting:
- the key challenge being addressed
- the features and benefits of the solution
- a business case supporting the piloting and scaling of the solution
- a 6-12 month development plan Participants will also have an opportunity to demo their solution for the Novo Nordisk team and industry participants. 

‍WHATWILL PARTICIPANTS RECEIVE?
‍• Mentoring by subject matter experts fromNovo Nordisk and Green Innovation Group
• Opportunity to co-develop with NovoNordisk  

‍WHO CHOOSES THE SEMI-FINALISTS AND PARTICIPANTS?
‍Applicants will be screened and evaluated by a select cohort of individuals from the Novo Nordisk team and Green InnovationGroup leadership. Final determination and selection of applicants will be made by Novo Nordisk senior leadership and subject matter experts. 

‍HOWWILL THE PARTICPANTS BE DETERMINED?
‍Applicants will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

• Ability to address the “how might we”question in the 3 Challenge descriptions
• Quality
• Feasibility
• Scalability of proposed solution
• Capability and coachability of team to develop and execute solution
